At last after lots of saving and other commitments I have started my engine replacement / upgrade  . The car currently has a 2.5 bottom end with 2 litre head not a good combination I know  : but its how it was when I bought it. I have purchased a 2 litre recon short motor which will be lightened and balanced, and planned upgrades are fast road cam, twin SU HS6 carbs, some headwork Ignitor ignition and coil and phoenix exhaust manifold don't know what the results will be but it will be good fun trying  first job was to remove old engine and strip down ready to salvage relevant parts.  Hopefully a few photos attached will update as project proceeds or in my case advances slowly in a slightly awkward one step forward two steps backward kind of way.
